Criminal Trial Lawyers in Scottsdale, Arizona

Being accused of a crime alone can be devastating. If the police have asked you to come to the station and “answer some questions,” CALL US. At the law offices of Sylvina Cotto, PC,  we can provide sound legal counsel to help you through this very serious and potentially life devastating situation. We are committed to providing aggressive and effective representation. We are bilingual in Spanish and English. We offer legal counsel to clients in Maricopa County and the East Valley, including Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert, Arizona.

We have handled hundreds of criminal cases in state and federal courts, involving all types of felonies and misdemeanors, including DUI and other drunk driving charges. We offer legal counsel regarding entering a plea bargain and plea agreements, and we assess your case for the possibility of dismissal of the charges against you.

We also defend against charges of dangerous offenses, defined in Arizona law as an offense involving a weapon, including aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a vehicle. This includes charges of sexual offenses and molestation; drug charges of possession or sales involving marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin, and meth; charges of white-collar crimes such as fraud, embezzlement and forgery; and charges of vehicle theft. We will defend you if you are accused of a parole violation.  In all cases, our criminal defense attorneys are committed to the aggressive defense of your constitutional rights.

Forfeiture
Forfeiture of property is a civil proceeding carried out in connection with an arrest for a crime. Property alleged to have been involved in a criminal activity or obtained as a result of criminal activity may be seized by police or federal agencies. In some cases, the property-often cash or an automobile-is subject to forfeiture even when the accused is acquitted or found not guilty of the crime that triggered the forfeiture. Contesting forfeiture requires filing a petition with the court. We can assess your situation, and offer legal counsel regarding issues of property forfeiture.

If you have been accused of a crime, we invite you to contact us for compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced criminal defense. We speak Spanish and English.
